Graphing has been a topic of discussion over the past few weeks and today we practices our graphing skills with... LUCKY CHARMS!
Students were given a cup full of the delicious cereal, but before they could enjoy the yummy treat they had to sort, graph and analyze their marshmallow data. It was a fun activity to practice these skills and we even listened to a few Irish tunes. Today during STEM (Science Technology Math and Engineering) we revisited changes in matter. We reviewed the 3 states of matter as well as discussed what is necessary in order for matter to change states (a change in temperature (HEAT). We experimented by making ICE CREAM IN A BAG! Although our hands got VERY COLD and ICE was all over the room... we had a BLAST! We had such a fun time celebrating the holiday season together- gingerbread houses, book exchanges, hot chocolate, and lots of fun! Enjoy your break and see you in 2016! All 2nd grade classes were given the opportunity to go to The River Center to view a performance of The Nutcracker. We had such a wonderful time and definitely got in the holiday spirit. The students were so interested in the story as well as the movement and dances of the performers. I am so happy that we have had 2 wonderful Fine Arts experiences already this year.
